I hate making changes to the ranking formula in mid-season (and haven’t done it in 3 years), but I don’t see how Gonzaga will be a #2 seed if they’re ranked #1 in both polls at the end of the year. I always adjust the formula at the end of each season, and after last season I devalued the poll rankings too much while trying to adjust the formula to better fit Murray State’s #6 seed while being ranked 9th and 12th in the 2 polls. I realize now I adjusted way too much and am going back to the weight I gave the polls 2 years ago, while changing the number of teams affected. I hope this will better fit the seeding at the top 2 seed lines, which is where the polls have the most influence on seeds.
