Bracket Notes
Ohio St and Michigan St have been moved up the S-Curve rankings after injury evaluations have been completed. A similar evaluation for Wiscinson will be completed at the end of the regular season. At this point, it looks like Wisconson will move up to a 3/4 seed at that time.
St Marys had a tough week, losing 2 difficult conference road games. However, their victories against San Diego St and Utah St only look more impressive as the season goes along. If either of those 2 teams starts to slide, it will affect St Marys’ resume and may keep them out of the tournament.
Texas Tech is out of the bracket at this point, due to their 1-8 record against RPI top 50 foes. The Red Raiders do have good wins against Washington and UTEP, and still have the opportunity to pick up big wins as they play Kansas St, Texas, and Baylor at home, and also get a road date with Baylor. If Texas Tech can win 4 of their last 6 regular season games and win a conference tournament game, they should have enough on their resume to earn a bid.
Mississippi St also gets strong consideration this week, after sweeping their in-state rivals on Thursday. Their 3-2 record against top 50 RPI teams is strong, however the overall Strength of Schedule is weak and their resume includes 3 losses against teams outside the top 100 RPI (no at-large team in the bracket has more than 2). Home games against Kentucky and Tennessee loom large for the Bulldogs.
